LEADERSHIP METROWEST EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
30 – 35 Hour Position-Nonprofit Organization, 1 employee organization
Anticipated Start Date: June 30, 2025
Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000. An additional $5,000 allowance is provided to be put towards the benefits most relevant to the Executive Director.

Leadership MetroWest seeks an experienced professional to lead a regional nonprofit organization with an annual budget of $100,000 and comprised of over 1000 diverse emerging and current leaders and
entities, which aims to move the MetroWest area forward through programming, partnerships, and
connections to resources and each other. This is an outstanding opportunity for a relationship-oriented
individual who can create and implement a vision, work in partnership with a board of directors, and
strengthen community partnerships to grow and sustain the organization’s impact.
As the Executive Director of a single-person organization, this individual is responsible for a series of revenue-generating programs, as well as communications, and finance, with support and strategic
guidance from an engaged board of directors who bring a range of skill sets, perspectives, and
geographic and sector diversity. Leadership MetroWest serves the public, private and nonprofit sectors in Framingham, Natick, Ashland, Hopkinton, Holliston, Marlborough, Sherborn, Southborough, Sudbury,
and Wayland.
The Executive Director of LMW will be:
- A strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal communication skills demonstrated through a
variety of media and audiences - A creative leader with experience in program facilitation and leadership curriculum delivery
and/or development - The face of the organization, regarded as a community leader, and as such will participate in
regional events, meetings, and thoughtful discourse relevant to the organization’s mission - An individual with a track record of business and community development to optimize organizational financial sustainability
- Innovative and forward-thinking, able to create a vision of the future grounded in the excellence
of the past - A self-starter who appreciates the flexibility of creating a workplace and schedule that suits their
own situation and the organization’s needs
Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Responsibilities:
- Significant nonprofit development experience or relationship management experience (5 or
more years preferred), with demonstrated success in fundraising - Recruit for, organize and plan for, facilitate a series of revenue generating leadership programs
- Responsible for fundraising in lieu of and with the support of the LMW Board of Directors
- Supervise interns and volunteers in the role of support to the Executive Director
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
- Creative and flexible self-starter able to work both individually and as a member of consensus-seeking teams
- Commitment to the mission and ability to articulate the importance of the organization’s work to a variety of audiences
- In collaboration with the Board of Directors, create a vision and execute a work plan to realize that vision
- Manage and maintain fiscal oversight and record-keeping, including financial and organizational compliance with all state and federal law
- Implement our Positive leadership curriculum and a yearly Community service project that focuses on ongoing issues in the region, and supports the goals of the Leadership Academy. Our board remains open to the development of a new curriculum.
- Develop and maintain alumni programs to ensure cross-sector collaborations and civic engagement.
- Create and execute communication that supports revenue generation, recruitment, program advertisement, and stakeholder engagement
- Ensure that Academy participants reflect the core values of the organization, including antiracism and diversity, and represent the entire MetroWest region

Employment Terms, in addition to meaningful and rewarding work:
This is a 30-35-hour flexible work week schedule to accommodate events and meetings that may occur during limited evenings and weekends. With no current physical office, but with frequent in-person community engagements, this is a remote-first position that requires physical presence in the
MetroWest community.
Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000
Health and Retirement benefits: $5,000 Stipend to be put towards the benefits most relevant to the Executive Director
Generous Paid Time Off: 1-2 weeks PTO, plus all federal holidays. Opportunity to earn additional PTO with more years of experience
